Bristol, Blandford Forum & Bovington – Stops 4 & 5

For day 5 and 6, we had a visit to Bristol, staying in The Coach House just outside Bristol. A Lovely little hotel tucked away from the road, lovely rooms and reception from the staff!

In the morning we had a go on a driving range, whacking golf balls all over the place, before having a round on the mini golf course at the venue. Pirates once again make an excellent theme for mini golf….for some reason!

We did aim to stop off at Clifton Suspension bridge but due to the weather and taking a few wrong turns, we only ended up going under it, and not over it!

Later that evening, we made our way to an inn near Blandford Forum called True Lovers Knot. The rooms were good but the staff weren’t very nice, quite frosty really, especially considering we were paying to stay there, wouldn’t recommend here I’m afraid! We headed into nearby Wimborne for something to eat and on the way back, Tracy pointed out Badbury Rings.

Badbury rings, as it turns out is the site of a former hilltop Iron Age fort, one of 32 found in Dorset. I sent the drone up to have a gander and you can see the rings much better from up high!

The next day, we made our way to The Tank Museum at Bovington for something a little different to our usual schedule of theme parks! The day was excellent, plenty to see, very informative and the show they put on with live vehicles was fantastic. Really worth the money to go and visit if you’re into history and such! We’ll hopefully be going back at some point to take part in their annual Tank Fest event!

Once we’d had our fill on tanks, we set off towards Southampton for our next 3 nights stop.
