2023 resolutions and plans

2023 has come around really fast. The 2022 season only feels like it ended in the past few days but in reality, it’s over a month and a half since we last set foot in a theme park!

I thought it might be a good idea to put down some resolutions and plans for the year ahead, and possibly reflect on how successful we were over the season.

Resolutions

Travel abroad

The first thing I’d like to do for certain is visit a theme park for the first time in a different country. Currently the plan is to visit Portaventura early on in the season, but this could change. No matter what though, I’d love to get across to the continent and visit somewhere totally new!

There’s so many parks with even more attractions to try, from Ride to Happiness at Plopsaland, F.L.Y. and Taron at Phantasia Land, Zadra at Energylandia, Baron 1898 at Efteling, plus so many more!

Refresh my blog

If there’s on thing I know needs attention, it’s the blog. It does give of a bad whiff of 90s web design and I’d like to catch up with some of the other blogs out there in this regard!

It might take a while to get to grips with how WordPress works but I’d like it to look professional and pleasant.

Grow my YouTube channel

The focus of Loops and Lapbars has never been about YouTube; and as I write this now, it still isn’t. However I would still like to try and gain more subscribers over the year with the hopes of hitting 250 by December next year.

That’s not a large number by other channels standards, but it would be nearly 5 times the amount I have now! I’ll be trying to do this by getting more on ride POVs made, try my hand at making some attraction based videos and…

Vlog

…possibly have a go at Vlogging. This is something that is totally alien to me, as I wouldn’t even know where to start with doing a video log. I’ve watched more than my fair share of other people’s vlogs, but it might be fun to do video versions of these blogs and possibly more!

As much of the UK as we can inbetween!

Finally I’d love to get back around to all the good stuff here in the UK. There’s all the Merlin parks, especially with Chessington opening the new Jumanji area, but there’s also rerides on Sik at Flamingo Land (as well as their other great coasters) and Blackpool Pleasure Beach too!

I’ll have a dedicated blog closer to seasons start about our actual plans, but for now, these have been some of the things I love to do next year!
